Not My Worst Day foundation is committed to inspire potential young leaders from war torn countries. The fundation offers annual Awards of thwo categories

1. THE NOT MY WORST DAY AMBASSADOR: the 2013 Award was given to Deborah Itereiteka, a young girl from the Netherlands, originally from Burundi. She was inspired by the Not My Worst Day book and demonstrated a great interest in the role African literature to address social issues affecting young people and children. Deborah pictured (left) is committed to question social injustice and promote peace and togetherness.

2. VOICE 4 THE VOICELESS AWARD: this is honourable recognition to a young person (10 – 18) in war zones promoting peace and harmony, raising awareness of issues affecting his/her country through music, poetry and arts.

Education is hope. For me, education was a way to finding peace. It is necessary about aspirations and careers but way out of conflict and violence.
